Final week. No teaching for two years.
End of an era.
For many the final week of term is normally one of celebration and students (as well as teachers and staff) prepare to leave for a well-deserved six-week holiday. It’s not exactly the same for me this year. I have just taken on a new job as County Advisor for Learning and Teaching with ICT and will therefore not teach a regular timetable. I am really looking forward to next year but having worked at the same school for 7 years doesn’t make it as simple and enjoyable like other years.
There are so many things I am looking forward to next year, not to mention my new position (!) or the launch of my third book but most importantly that I will be a proud dad round about the 30th October! It’s the end of an era and the beginning of another one. Very exciting.
Keep inspired.
As I have to travel for about 50 minutes every morning I have already started downloading a series of podcasts from Ted.com and Stanford’s Entrepreneurship Corner. The problem with downloading the videos and podcasts that you want to listen or watch is that there are too many. Far too many. So I have decided to watch or listen to one talk every working day, give or take a couple of course. Just to make sure that I reflect on what I listen or watch I will also add a brief review of each talk on this blog, see Must Watch Talks section. I just finished watching a brilliant talk by Clay Shirky on how social media can make history. Amazing.
